Dan,

The information you seek is in the MSP430 User's Guide, Chapter 17. Section
17.2.5, "Sample and Conversion Timing" will be of particular interest. You
may also find ADC_README in tinyos-1.x/tos/platform/msp430/ helpful.

Briefly, a conversion takes tsync + tsample + tconvert, all of which are a
function of the ADC clock. tsample is defined by SHTx which can be 4 to 1024
ADC clock cycles, and tconvert is 13 ADC clock cycles.
