Millennium Tutorial

Step 1: Obtain an account

In the Computer Science division, please use the following form: Account Form.

Step 2: Setting things up

The second step is to set your environment up correctly.

First, you will need to modify three environment variables.

Second, you will need to set yourself up to use the GEXEC remote execution environment.

Third, if you plan to use MPI, you will need to do a couple more things. Instructions are here.

Step 3: Log in to a front-end machine

The third step is to log in to a front end machine and to run your applications. Each cluster in each department/project has its own front end machine(s). Once you have logged in to a front end machine, you may then run applications on the cluster using the GEXEC remote execution environment. To log in to a front end machine, you will need to use ssh.
