Introduction to the PSI IBM Fast Storage Cluster

The IBM Fast Storage Cluster serves the high-speed filesystems such as /work to several compute clusters, including the CITRIS cluster and the PSI Fast Storage Cluster. Currently there are 8 server frontends with the following configuration:
  • 6.5TB of 15K and 10K rpm Fibre Channel attached disks
  • IBM FastT700 RAID storage controller
  • Eight IBM x335 Dual 2.6GHz Pentium 4 Xeon Servers

This is a non-restricted shared resource. Please be thoughtful about others when using these filesystems.

Note: /work has a 30 day deletion policy. Any file not touched for 30 days will be deleted without warning. /work is meant for staging runs on the cluster, not for long-term storage. /work is never backed up.
